Its about time...

Hey everyone,

I know it has been annoyingly long time since my last post, so…let me give you all an update.

In the last 4 weeks, Jeff and I went to the Philippines, which, in short, was the BEST vacation and by far one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen/been to.

I can’t describe how or what exactly made this place so amazing, but it was.

Manila sucked, we only passed through because we had to, but Palawan was breath taking.

We flew from Manila to Puerto Princesa on May 2nd…and literally spent the next week in absolute paradise. Once we got off the plane, we found our driver and he took us 2.5 hours up the island and through the jungle to our private resort. We checked into our cottage and lounged about the lush garden reading and drinking coconut smoothies. The next day, our private boat took us to a serious of amazingly beautiful, clean and clear beaches. Snorkeling, BBQ on the beach, shell searching, and colorful fish…what more can you ask for? We spent the rest of the week eating, relaxing, and traveling around on our private boat. We saw a cave, monkeys, large lizards, did more snorkeling and lots of relaxing.

Butterflies went flying across the water, fish jumped up as we sped around, I even saw a dolphin…

Our cottage faced west and the crimson sunset made for a beautiful backdrop to our dinner each night.

The food was amazing, fresh fruit of every color, smoothies, and fresh veggies (just my style!). The resort staff even had a BBQ just for us in the garden.

The interesting thing was that the town we were in, Port Barton, shut off electricity several times during the day (from 10am-5pm and from 10pm-5 am)…it was a bit rough…especially since we had no fan to keep us cool during the hot evenings and had to stumble our way to bathroom during the night. However, it didn’t matter…we had the most amazing experience and found what a vacation is supposed to be…free of stress, free of massive amounts of other tourists (I forgot to mention that there was almost NO ONE else…and everything was extremely private), beautiful, and above all, peaceful.

The only catch…well…you might expect something like this be expensive…but it wasn’t.

The entire week: food (3 meals a day), housing, transportation, private tours, the boat, and even someone from the resort coming with us to cook/clean up for us, cost a total of $380 per person (not including flights).

I would recommend you all to go if you can.
